Neil SINCLAIR31 Aug - 08:00

The FA launches a number of new interventions to ensure the game can be played in safe and enjoyable environment for all.

“We all have a collective responsibility in helping to improve the behaviour and culture in our game and our new Code of Conduct sets this out clearly. Together, we can create a safe and enjoyable environment for all.”
- James Kendall FA Director, Football Developmentl

Hearts of Teddlothian is very proud to be an England Football Accredited Club. As a non-selective community club, Hearts upholds the values of RESPECT, promoted by the FA. The new season brings with it the launch of several improved guides for everyone involved in grass roots football to gain the maximum enjoyment from their participation, whether they are players, coaches, parents or referees and their assistants. Please take a little time to read the guides, and share them with your children.

New Code of Conduct

The FA clearly setting out expectations of behaviours in the grassroots game through a new Code of Conduct for the 2024-25 season. This sets out the minimum standards which ensure a positive environment for all to enjoy the game. Read it here

Revamped Sinbins

Sinbin protocols have been simplified to drive consistency of use and to enforce the message that dissent will not be tolerated. A dissent offence will now be treated as a standard caution, with the additional punishment of time being spent off the field of play “in the sin bin”.

New Penalty Points Accumulations

For offences that are behavioural-based, such as dissent or threatening behaviour, penalty points will be attributed. When certain accumulation thresholds of these points are reached, bespoke support will be provided and teams will be asked to evidence steps that are being taken to tackle poor behaviour through the FA's new Behaviour Improvement Programme.
